Texas Tech University Scholarships
Applications are due every year on February 1 for the following academic year.
Texas Tech University scholarships are awarded by the Financial Aid Office,
university colleges, and university departments. Need based awarding begins in
early March. It is best for students to submit their FAFSA or renewal FAFSA as
soon as they have their family’s tax information.
Entering Freshman Scholarship Application
Available at ApplyTexas.
Students entering Texas Tech University with no other college credit or
directly out of high school. Complete the admissions application and click the
“apply for scholarships” button within the ApplyTexas admissions application.

Entering Transfer Scholarship Application
Available at ApplyTexas.
Students entering Texas Tech University from another college (either a four
year university or a community college). Complete your admissions application
and click the “apply for scholarships” button within the ApplyTexas admissions

Entering International Students

Merit Based Scholarships
Merit-based scholarships are awarded to incoming students based on test scores
and class rank. No additional application is required. More information about

Most Texas Tech University colleges and departments use the entering freshman,
entering transfer, or current student scholarship applications. But, it’s a
good idea to also check with your college or department about additional
