How They Are Disbursed
Scholarships are applied to your tuition bill each semester. The University must
confirm that you have been accepted and have enrolled before payment will be
made.
If your scholarship arrives after your bill is already paid for the semester, or
if the scholarship is more than your bill, a refund check will be issued to
you. You can expect your refund to be mailed to your local address. You may
receive refunds through direct deposit (recommended) by completing a direct
deposit form at
student business services.
If, you receive the scholarship in cash and you are receiving any other type of
financial aid, you are obligated to notify us. We may be required to adjust
your financial aid package. However, please note that we do not reduce the
total amount of aid you are eligible to receive; we only adjust the type of
aid. First, we will reduce any loans you may have been offered.
Occasionally, a donor will send the scholarship check directly to you. Do not
include the check with your payments to the Student Business Services Office.
Instead, forward the scholarship check to the Scholarship Office, Box 45011
Lubbock, TX 79409 -5011, and it will be processed accordingly (endorse checks
made payable to you or both you and TTU before forwarding). Also, please
provide at least the last four digits of your social security number with your
check to expedite processing.
